A beach volleyball bracket that runs itself
LiveCup builds the pools, the playoff bracket and the court schedule for your beach volleyball tournament. Pairs sign up from their phones, you or your referees enter set scores, and the standings and bracket update for everyone at once. It works for a single Saturday cup and for a league that runs all summer.
Formats for beach volleyball tournaments
Pick the format that fits your courts and your day.
League (round robin)
The simplest way to run a small field or a summer league. One table, ranked by points and set difference.
- Fixtures generated for you
- Live table after every set
- Tiebreakers applied automatically
Pools + playoff
Pool play first, so every pair gets several matches, then the best pairs move into a knockout bracket.
- Pools drawn for you
- You choose how many advance
- Byes handled in the bracket
Knockout and double elimination
Straight elimination when courts or daylight are short, or double elimination so one lost match does not end the day.
- Seeding and byes handled
- Third-place match option
- Double elimination available
Built for pairs, sets and pool play
Beach volleyball is played 2v2, in sets, and usually starts with pools. LiveCup handles all three without workarounds.
2v2 pair registration
Print one QR code. Players sign up as a pair with both names, and you approve the entries before the draw.
Set scoring that matches the game
Best of 3 sets, sets to 21 points, the third set to 15, win by two. Enter each set score and the match result follows.
Pool play, then a playoff bracket
Run groups first, then send the top pairs into a bracket. When the number of qualifiers is not a power of two, byes are placed for you.

Beach volleyball tournament bracket: questions
How do I run pool play with a playoff bracket?
Choose the groups + playoff format, set the number of pools and how many pairs advance from each. LiveCup draws the pools, generates the pool matches, and builds the playoff bracket from the final pool tables. If the number of qualifiers is not a power of two, byes are placed automatically.
How do pairs register for the tournament?
Share a QR code or link. Beach volleyball uses pair registration, so each entry collects two players. You see the entries, approve them, and then run the draw.
How are set scores recorded?
Matches are best of 3 sets by default. Sets go to 21 points, the third set to 15, and a set must be won by two points. You enter the score of each set and LiveCup works out the match winner.
What are the tie-breakers in a pool?
Pairs are ranked by points first. Ties are broken by set difference, head-to-head and sets won, and you can change the order of these criteria in the tournament settings.
How many courts and matches do I need for one day?
It depends on the number of pairs and the format. The tournament calculator shows the number of matches and the total duration for each format, so you can compare it with your courts and daylight before you commit.
Can I show the bracket on a screen at the venue?
Yes. Open the TV link on any screen. It rotates the pool tables, the bracket and the latest results, and updates as soon as a set score is entered.
Is there a free plan, and what is the limit?
Yes. The free plan covers up to 4 teams per tournament, which in beach volleyball means 4 pairs. PRO raises the limit to 32 and BUSINESS to 64.
Can I run a weekly beach league across the summer?
Yes. Use the league format: every pair plays every other pair, the table updates after each result, and players follow it on one public link. Schedule the matches on the dates and courts you choose.
