Live Stream Your Tournament — YouTube, Twitch & More
Add a stream URL to any match. Viewers see it embedded right on your public tournament page.
Spectators don't want to hunt for a stream link. They want to land on your tournament page and watch the action right there. From today, organisers on LiveCup can paste a YouTube, Twitch, Vimeo or Facebook live URL onto any match, and a featured 'LIVE NOW' section appears on the public page — no extra tools, no detached links, no friction. Streaming is part of how your tournament shows up to the world.
Why live streaming matters for your tournament
When a tournament publishes a public bracket and a live stream side-by-side, viewers stay engaged for longer, share more, and come back next event. Sponsors notice. The difference between a tournament that 'happened' and a tournament that built an audience often comes down to whether the spectators could find the action in one click.
LiveCup now treats the stream as a first-class part of your public tournament page — not a buried admin link. Your audience sees the bracket, the standings, and the live video together. Nothing else to install or configure on the spectator side.
How to add a live stream to a tournament match
Copy your stream URL
Open YouTube, Twitch, Vimeo or Facebook in another tab and copy the link to your live broadcast. Both live URLs and VOD links work, so you can keep a replay available after the match.
Open match settings in LiveCup
From the operator panel, click the match you want to stream. Scroll to the new 'Live stream' section, or use the radio icon directly in the schedule view for a quick edit.
Paste the URL and publish
Paste the link, hit save, and the embedded player appears on the public tournament page within seconds. If you have multiple courts, click 'Apply to all matches on Court N' to set the stream URL in one go.
Which platforms are supported
LiveCup supports the four platforms organisers actually use: YouTube live and VOD, Twitch live channels and VODs, Vimeo videos and event broadcasts, and Facebook Live videos. We canonicalise each URL into a safe embed automatically, so you don't have to think about embed codes or iframe tags.
What your audience sees on the public page
Viewers landing on /t/your-tournament see a featured 'LIVE NOW' section right under the tournament header. If multiple matches stream simultaneously — say, three courts at a regional padel event — the section becomes a tab strip, one player per court. They can pick which match to watch without leaving the page.
Every match card across the schedule and bracket also gets a small 'Watch live' badge when a stream is attached. Scheduled matches link out to the upcoming broadcast; completed matches link to the replay. The bracket stays as the source of truth, the stream just plays in context.
Tips for a professional tournament stream
Camera height matters more than camera quality. Mount the phone or camera at chest height behind the baseline or sideline — viewers should see the whole court, not a top-down sliver. A simple tripod from a phone-accessory shop works fine.
Audio is the second hidden upgrade. The crowd sound on a basic phone mic is often louder than the announcer. A clip-on lavalier mic plugged into a phone, or a separate audio source mixed in OBS, transforms how the stream feels — even amateur events sound suddenly broadcast-grade.
Ready to start streaming your tournament
Live streams are available on PRO and above, or on any tournament unlocked with a credit. [Create a free tournament](/tournaments/new) to try the operator panel, or upgrade an existing one from your dashboard. The first time you paste a stream URL and watch it appear on the public page in seconds, you'll understand why streaming belongs where the bracket lives.
Frequently asked questions
Which streaming platforms can I connect to a tournament match?
YouTube live and VOD, Twitch live channels and VODs, Vimeo videos and event broadcasts, and Facebook Live videos. Paste any standard URL from those services and LiveCup canonicalises it into a safe embed automatically.
Can I add multiple streams to one tournament?
Yes. Every match has its own optional stream URL. When two or more matches are live at the same time and each has a stream attached, the public page renders them as tabs — one player active at a time so viewers can pick which court to watch.
Is live streaming free on LiveCup?
Live streams are a PRO feature. They're available on any tournament whose owner is on a PRO or higher subscription, or on individual tournaments unlocked with a credit. Free-tier organisers can still link out to streams hosted externally.
Do viewers need an account to watch the stream?
No. The stream embed is part of the public tournament page, which doesn't require viewers to log in to LiveCup or to the streaming platform. They click, they watch.
Can I add the same stream URL to all matches on one court?
Yes. In the match editor, once you've pasted a URL, a button 'Apply to all matches on Court N' appears. One click and every match scheduled on that court inherits the stream URL — handy for multi-court venues with one camera per court.
