Field hockey tournament software for club days and school festivals
LiveCup is a web app for organizing field hockey tournaments and club leagues, outdoor on grass or turf and indoor in the winter. Pick a format, add teams or let managers register by QR code, and the fixtures, pool tables, tiebreakers and knockout bracket are generated for you. Enter goals from your phone and put the live table on a TV or projector at the clubhouse.
Formats for every field hockey event
From a single Sunday festival to a season-long league.
League (round robin)
The format for a club league or a small one-day tournament. A table with points (3 for a win, 1 for a draw), goal difference and head-to-head.
- Fixtures generated for you
- Automatic tiebreakers
- Top scorers and cards
Pools + knockout
Pool games first, then semi-finals and a final. Every team gets several matches and the day ends with a real final.
- Pools drawn for you
- Pool winners seeded into the bracket
- Third-place match
Cup (knockout)
Straight elimination when the pitch is booked for a few hours. Byes and seeding are handled, and a shoot-out winner settles a draw.
- Up to 64 teams
- Shoot-out winner recorded
- Double elimination also available
A league calendar your club actually checks
A club league brings the same questions every week: when is the next fixture, who is it against, where are we in the table. Put the calendar in one place and stop answering them one by one.
A calendar for the season
Generate the whole season's fixtures once. Every team sees its next match and the time.
No more screenshots
The table is not a picture you repost after each round. Enter the result and the standings change for everyone.
One link for everyone
Send a single link to players, parents and supporters. It opens on any phone, with nothing to install.

Field hockey tournament organizer: questions
How many teams fit in a one-day field hockey tournament?
It depends on pitch time. A match of 2 × 15 minutes with a short break takes about 40 minutes, so one pitch fits roughly 7 matches in 5 hours. That is a full league of 4 teams plus a final. For more teams, use pools with a knockout stage or shorter matches. Use the tournament calculator to check your numbers before you book the pitch.
Should I run a league or pools + knockout?
A league is right when every team can play every other team, the normal case for a club league and for small events. Choose pools + knockout when you have more teams than time: pools give everyone several matches, then the best teams play semi-finals and a final.
What match length does LiveCup use for hockey?
The default is 60 minutes, and you can change the match length to fit your day, for example 2 × 15 or 2 × 20 minutes for a festival. The schedule uses that length to space out the matches.
Can teams register themselves?
Yes. Share a QR code or link and managers register with the team name and contact details. You approve the teams, so you stay in control of the list.
How are ties in the table decided, and what about knockout draws?
A win gives 3 points, a draw 1 and a loss 0, and you can change that. Ties in the table are broken by goal difference, goals scored and head-to-head, in the order you choose. In a knockout match that ends level, you record the shoot-out winner.
Can I show the table on a TV at the clubhouse?
Yes. Open the TV link on any screen or projector and it rotates the standings, the next matches and results automatically.
Is there a free plan, and what is the limit?
Yes. The free plan lets you run a tournament with up to 4 teams. PRO raises the limit to 32 teams and BUSINESS to 64. You can create the tournament and see the schedule before you decide.
Can I run indoor hockey or a season-long league?
Yes. Indoor hockey runs the same way: pick the format, set the match length and enter results. For a season, choose the league format and the schedule covers every team playing every other team, with a second leg as an option. The table keeps itself current as you enter results.
