How many teams fit in a one-day water polo tournament?
It depends on the pool time. A game of four 5-minute quarters plus changeovers takes roughly 30 minutes, so one pool fits about 10 games in 5 hours. That covers a league of 5 teams. For more teams, use groups with a playoff or shorter games. Use the tournament calculator to check your numbers before you book the pool.
Should I run a league or groups + playoff?
A league is right when every team can play every other team, which is the normal case for a club league and small tournaments. Choose groups + playoff when you have more teams than pool time: groups give everyone several games, then the best teams play a knockout stage and a final.
What match length should I set?
The default is 32 minutes, which fits four 8-minute quarters. Many tournaments play four 5-minute quarters or two 7-minute halves, so change the match length to what your slot allows and the schedule follows.
Can coaches register their own team?
Yes. Share a QR code or link and coaches register with the team name and contact details. You approve the teams, so you stay in control of the list.
How are ties in the table decided?
The table uses points, goal difference, goals scored and head-to-head, in the order you choose. In knockout rounds a drawn game is settled by recording the penalty shoot-out winner.
Can I show the table on a TV by the pool?
Yes. Open the TV link on any screen and it rotates the standings, the next games and results automatically.
Is there a free plan, and what is the limit?
Yes. The free plan lets you run a tournament with up to 4 teams. PRO raises the limit to 32 teams and BUSINESS to 64. You can create the tournament and see the schedule before you decide.
Can I run a season-long club league?
Yes. Choose the league format and the schedule covers every team playing every other team, with a second leg as an option. Enter results week by week and the table keeps itself current. The league table generator page shows how the standings work.
