Legs only: score a whole darts event on your own

No points, no keypad. Tap who won the leg and move on to the next board.

One of our organizers ran a large darts tournament alone. Entering every visit on every board was too slow for one person, and the players didn't need averages that night. They only needed a correct table. So the match scorer now has a third mode next to Visit total and Dart by dart: Legs only.

Tap who won the leg

Switch the scorer to Legs only and you get two big buttons, one for each player: Leg: Gary Whitlock and Leg: Shane Doyle. When a leg ends, tap the winner. The leg score moves to 1:0, 2:1 and so on, and a small marker shows who throws first in the next leg.

Tapped the wrong player? Undo last leg takes it back. When the match is decided, LiveCup still asks you to confirm before it finishes the match, so one stray tap can't end it. This mode records no points and no stats, only the legs.

Or enter the final score at once

Sometimes you only hear the result afterwards: the players come over and say it finished 3:1. Before the first leg, tap Enter final score instead, set the legs for each player with the plus and minus buttons and save. Save score stays greyed out until one player reaches the winning number of legs. This option works for formats without sets.

Set it once for the whole tournament

When you, as the organizer, switch to Legs only, it becomes the default for every match in the tournament, so you don't have to pick it again on the next board. If you only want it for one match, tap Only this match in the message that appears.

Referees, players and anyone scoring through a management link keep their choice on their own device. You can also set it before the event in the tournament settings under Darts rules: How scores are entered, Leg winner only.

Fans see the leg score, not 501:501

The public match page and the TV screen show the leg score, for example 2:1, with the note Live score: legs only. Fans never see a frozen 501:501. Legs entered this way are listed with no throws recorded, so nobody takes them for a leg without darts.

Works offline, free on every plan

If the venue Wi-Fi drops, keep tapping. The legs are saved on your phone and sent as soon as you are back online. Legs only is available on every plan. Need averages and 180s for the final? Switch back to Visit total for that match and score it in full.

Frequently asked questions

Where do I switch on Legs only?

In the match scorer, tap Legs only in the switch above the score, next to Visit total and Dart by dart. You can also choose Leg winner only in the tournament settings under Darts rules.

Does it change the mode for other matches?

When the organizer switches, Legs only becomes the default for every match in the tournament. Tap Only this match in the message to keep it for one match. Referees and players keep their choice on their own device.

Are statistics recorded?

No. Legs only records who won each leg, nothing more. Averages, 180s and checkouts need Visit total or Dart by dart.

What if I tap the wrong player?

Tap Undo last leg. The leg goes back to the score it had before. Finishing the match always needs a confirmation, so a single mistaken tap can't end it.

Can I enter only the final result?

Yes, before the first leg starts. Tap Enter final score instead, set the legs for each player, for example 3:1, and save. It is available for formats without sets.

What do fans and the TV show?

The leg score, for example 2:1, with the note Live score: legs only. Legs entered this way read no throws recorded on the public match page.

Does it work without internet?

Yes. Taps are saved on the device and sent when the connection is back, like visits in the normal scorer.
